March Goals

For a while I have followed a ton of individuals on Instagram that are on a weight loss journey. Many of them make goals for each month. Well this month I decided to try this.

March Goals:
1. Avoid Binge Eating- Now for me this can go from 0 to 100 in minutes. If I have a bad day I will just eat and eat and not stop. I will want more food even though I am completely full, but I connect feeling full with feeling happy... Bad connection. So far for March 2nd, 3rd, and 4th I have been successful. I've been planning my meals out an tracking them the night before (see number 4).

2. Drink 3 water bottles (21 ounces each) per day. Now today I desperately wanted to get my 3 in... Well I just chugged the remaining amount in my 3rd bottle right before bed... Bad idea I know.

3. Take vitamins daily- Well I'm already 1 for 3 on this one. My problem is I can't take them before I work out because I typically work out in the morning on an empty stomach, but I can't lug bottles of vitamins back and forth to work. I have to find a solution to this problem.

4. Stick with my calories within MyFitnessPal. This isn't sticking to a 1200 calorie diet by any means!!! I can't do that (I've tried). Instead I have my goal set at 1450 a day, but I let myself eat about 1550-1650 depending on the amount I've exercised. I was at 1330, but felt deprived so I'm experimenting. Experimenting doesn't help when you aren't on target, but 120 calories seems to make a HUGE difference right now.

Now these goals are pretty simple and I bet will help me stay on track. Number 1 is going to be difficult, but you know what I'm doing? I'm sharing it with friends so they know I'm struggling and they can keep me accountable.

My workout routine was put on the back burner last week. I didn't do much strength training at all. Well this morning, after getting an inspiring message, I got back at the strength training. I'd rather do cardio than strength any day, but I know I need to add more strength/ weight training because muscle burns fat. I feel like I'm at the gym more than my own house, but this is the lifestyle I have chosen and I have to stick with it. I'm hoping once the weather gets nicer I can figure out a new routine so I can enjoy running and biking. Right now I'm scared to step on the scale, so that will have to happen soon.

I'm hoping that in 30 days I can accomplish a few of the goals for March and be on my way to making this a lifestyle because that's what will help me during my lifetime.
